Ashleigh Veterinary Centre offers general pet veterinary care and also sees exotic and avian species (with an “exotic only” branch referenced on its website). Reviews describe both routine and complex care: spay surgery for a dog, a flank spay for a guinea pig after assessment found a heart murmur, and same-day treatment for a constipated bearded dragon (laxatives). Owners also mention practical touches around end-of-life care, including keepsakes (fur vial and paw-print mould) and a condolence card sent afterwards.

One recent review raises a serious complaint about medication advice for a corn snake and the way the follow-up conversation/refund request was handled, contrasting with many other reports of thorough explanations and time for questions.
4.5 stars from 1173 reviews. - Thorough explanations and time for questions: owners describe vets being detailed when answering concerns (including people attending with lists of rabbit health questions, and owners asking many questions about a budgie).

Highly recommend. Everyone is so caring at Ashleigh vets. The vet we saw, Lourdes, had all the time to explain what she could see was up with our cat, answer our questions, Our cat was relaxed through the consultation and we felt reassured and clear on what’s we what we need to do. A decent sized carpark is really helpful too.

I am writing this now that I am starting to come to terms with the painful and drawn out death of my beloved guinea pig at the hands of this veterinary surgery. I would not suggest anyone takes their exotic pet here. I took my guinea pig to ashleigh vets in Chorlton and I asked the vet more than once if it was ethical to keep my guinea pig alive considering he had lost a significant amount of weight and was not eating. I also said if he was in pain, I rather put him to sleep than have him suffer. The vet at ashleigh vets said that my guinea pig was not in any pain and if they thought he was suffering, they would suggest I put him down. After nearly a week of being in their hospital and over five hundred pounds worth of fees, my piggy was sent home with a bunch of medicines and told to return in a week’s time. I could not afford to fork out more money for the consultation after I’d already forked out all that money a few weeks before Christmas, so I phoned and told them my piggy’s condition (he wasn’t eating and had lost a lot of weight). I was told to take him in - yet another fee! We were given more medicine (another expense on top of the consultation fee) and told our piggy was ok and we would possibly get another few weeks with him. We could tell he was not well at all as at this time he had fully stopped eating yet the vet said he looked fine. Our piggy stopped moving around when he got home and died in the night! When I phoned to speak with the vet who saw him the day before, I asked her what she saw in him etc and she said he seemed happy enough in himself and was happy that he seemed well. When I told her he died, she said she was sorry and quickly hung up as if she realised she really messed up. I wish I would have never taken my beloved pet here. My little boy was devastated and this vet is to blame for this because the death was drawn out. Our piggy could have been put to sleep in a dignified way, instead he died in a lot of pain, skin and bones. A review of their practices needs to take place.

I would like to thank Elise for the care and advice she gave me around my dogs pain. She came up with a plan to manage his joint pain and I felt reassured after she had checked him over thoroughly. Elise also answered a couple of other queries I had about my dog during the consultation. I do love to see the array of birds and animals also waiting to see the vets. This time we had the pleasure of seeing a beautiful owl and a chinchilla! Thanks to you all and it is definitely worth me travelling from Sale to your Chorlton practice.

We visited Ashleigh vets a few times and I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, professional and very informative place. Unfortunately we had to have our cat put to sleep today, but Elisa one of the vets was really nice and comforting during this difficult time. She gave us some time to say our goodbyes and was very understanding. We couldn't have asked for anyone nicer during this difficult time. I would highly recommend this vets! Thank you Ashleigh vetinary, we appreciate all your help and support

Wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else! They’ve been taking care of my dog since a puppy and did a fantastic job with her spay surgery, taking great care of her when she was extremely grumpy afterwards! They also treated the death of my guinea pig with incredible compassion, providing with some lovely keepsakes - a small vial with her fur and a moulding of her paw prints. And they followed up with a condolences card in the post. These little gestures make a huge difference. Thank you.

I was parked outside of AVC, I’ve been in before as an emergency for a particular brand of food. And they where kind enough to oblige.
