Yew Tree Veterinary Surgery is an RCVS General Practice established in 1956 and set up as a small-animal clinic (dogs, cats and small mammals including rabbits and guinea pigs). The website highlights in-house diagnostics (lab work plus ultrasound and X‑ray), routine care (vaccines, parasite control, nurse clinics) and surgery, including a soft-tissue surgery referral service.
From the latest reviews available, owners most often mention supportive handling for anxious or disabled dogs, and at least one detailed surgical case (tail amputation) with good recovery reported. A minority of reviews raise concerns about cost and follow-up on complaints, including one report of an ear infection visit costing £199 with the owner saying the treatment worsened the problem and that a refund was declined after a delayed reply.
4.4 stars from 281 reviews. - Handling anxious or sensitive pets: multiple owners describe staff being patient and gentle, including helping a dog become more comfortable with visits and handling over time.

Terrible experience. My dog had an ear infection so I brought him to Yew tree, I was given treatment for him that did not do anything to help and in fact, made him worse. I contacted the vets who gave me an email for complaints as I am seeking a refund for the £199 that was charged, it has now been over two weeks with no reply, I emphasized how unwell my dog had become since our visit but it was made clear to me that they do not care, how can you claim to be somewhere that cares for animals when you just ignore and avoid? Edit: They the took over two weeks to reply to my email and only did so once I had posted this review, declined to refund me and offered a phone call with their vet, why on earth would I go back to the same vet that has acted as above? I will be taking this further, private vets like this one are just money grabbers, if you look at all the other 1 star reviews it is clear they over charge as standard and by experience, they do not care for animals, only money.

I can’t thank Yew Tree Vets enough for the incredible care they gave to my dog, Buddy. He recently had to have his tail amputated, and from start to finish the team went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well looked after. Buddy is quite an anxious dog, but they were so patient and gentle with him, helping to put him at ease throughout the whole process. A very special mention to Ocean, the vet who carried out his surgery – she was absolutely amazing and made sure Buddy was cared for every step of the way. Her kindness, skill, and compassion made a difficult experience so much easier. I’m so grateful for the exceptional care they provided – Buddy is recovering well thanks to them. Highly recommend Yew Tree Vets!

I switched to Yew Tree a couple of years ago and they have just been fantastic. All staff are friendly and helpful, and the care my dog has received has been wonderful. They are patient and have worked so hard with me to get my dog comfortable visiting and being handled. Special mention to Georgie for all her work and also everyone on reception. It’s a great practice all round and I’m so pleased I switched to them.

Really lovely vets & staff. We've seen Emily twice now with our little disabled dog, and she's been so gentle and understanding with him. Big thanks from us & Hershey!

I am so pleased with every part of service and care from Yew Tree Vets. Having only ever been in and out for immunisations in the past, i have just endured frequent visits over the past 9 weeks receiving treatment for an ocular tear with my dog Louie. Me and louie received excellent care and advice. They were also lenient and supportive when i was worried about deterioration finding me a same day appointment and were very empathetic. I would absolutely recommend this vets to anyone! See pictures for Louies healthy recovery ❤️🩹
